This is a drawing using parallel lines and parallelograms to create space. I used overlapping and value which are new skills, and using these helped me create space. Space is the main element I used, as I tried to fill in most of the gaps and negative space to emphasize the illusion. I also tried to change the proportions and sizes of the parallelograms to help with this. This created something new, interesting and meaningful because it used new elements to create effects.
This work is a drawing using lines to create a swirling illusion. I learned about motif and negative space. The motif in this drawing is lines, as they're what create the whole drawing and are the focus. Negative space was used to create the four main triangles. The negative space is the white space on the top and bottom. One art element used is lines, the main element of the drawing. The whole work is made up of lines, they're what create the main triangles, the polygons and smaller triangles within those, and the effect inside of those that creates the illusion. This element creates an effect of swirls that you wouldn't otherwise see; it makes it difficult to see the geometric shapes formed together to create this overall effect. Without lines, the drawing wouldn't even exist.
