This is a painting of leaves using watercolor. One new skill used in this assignment is value. I had to mix different shades of colors using primary colors in order to get it to look how I wanted. The main art elements are value, shape, space and color. The shapes is what make up the overall drawing, space is the white background and how much room the leaves are taking up, and color helps add detail, shade, and overlap. This creates the idea of a snapshot of a pile of leaves; they're not moving or in action, therefore it's still. |
